About restorative practice

WHAT IS IT?

Restorative practices can transform deeply held, often negative, feelings, into positive and respectful relationships.

We provide facilitated restorative practice processes to help resolve disputes, workshops to help make your workplace or organisation more resilient and embed restorative practices, as well as coaching to help individuals use restorative practice in their everyday lives.

Restorative practice is based on the underlying philosophy that:
“People are happier, more cooperative and productive, and more likely to make positive changes when those in authority do things with them, rather than to them or for them”.
(Wachtel & Wachtel, 2012)

Respectful relationships are at the heart of our restorative practice mahi. We work with people to help them repair harm to their relationships at home, at work, at school, or in the community.

Our facilitators use a range of tools to help parties restore relationships where harm has been experienced. We help the people involved to participate in honest conversations, sharing and listening to each other to understand and repair their relationship.

A restorative practice process is flexible and tailored to the needs of the people we work with. Costs will vary depending on your needs, there is no cost to getting a quote, and we will work with you to design a process suitable for you.

Who do we work with?

Restorative practices can be beneficial in restoring relationships at home, at work, at school and within voluntary groups.

We can work one on one, with small groups, and large teams. We have experience working with families, volunteers, with NGOs, public and private sector businesses, with Boards, senior leadership teams, through to tamariki and rangatahi at school.

The process is voluntary, all participants must choose to be involved and may change their minds at any time.
